Few places still offer rivers this wild, fish this big and so few other anglers. Here's why guests travel halfway around the world to fish with us.
Wild, quiet rivers
Taimen Lodge sits in the Tsagaan Nuur area of Khövsgöl, northern Mongolia. You fish long stretches of clear water, often without seeing another angler all day.

Three great fish
Taimen, the world's largest salmonid, plus hard-fighting lenok and sail-finned Arctic grayling.
Fish that are protected
All fishing is catch-and-release with single barbless hooks, and only 150 taimen licences are granted each year for the whole area.
Nomadic culture
Herders still move with their animals along the river. Mongolians are warm, welcoming hosts, and it's a safe country to travel in.
Remote, but easy to reach
Fly into Ulaanbaatar. From there it's a 1-hour flight to Mörön and an SUV ride to camp, or a charter flight of about 3 hours.
A local team
We've run Taimen Lodge since 2018, with guides who have fished these rivers for 20 years and no more than 8 anglers per trip.
